Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By using UrlToSub ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. What the Service does

UrlToSub is a browser-based tool that transcribes and translates video and audio files into subtitle files, transcripts, and articles. Processing works as follows:

• Your video file never leaves your computer. All video processing happens locally in your browser using WebAssembly.
• The extracted audio is sent to OpenAI Whisper API for transcription. AssemblyAI may be used as a fallback.
• The resulting subtitle text is sent to Anthropic Claude API for translation and AI-powered tools (article export, launch kit, etc.).
• Saved projects (.urltosub files) are stored locally on your device only — never on our servers.
• No audio or video data is retained by us after processing is complete.

3. Acceptable use

You may use UrlToSub to transcribe and translate content you own or have rights to. You may not:

• Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the Service
• Resell or redistribute our Service as your own product
• Attempt to circumvent usage limits or access controls
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Share your account credentials with others

4. Subscription and payments

Free accounts are provided at no cost subject to usage limits (30 minutes per month). Paid subscriptions are billed monthly, quarterly, or annually via Stripe. You may cancel at any time — your access continues until the end of the billing period. No refunds are provided for partial periods.

License keys are delivered by email after purchase. Each license key may be activated on up to 5 devices. Keys are non-transferable. We reserve the right to revoke keys used in violation of these Terms.

5. Intellectual property

You retain full ownership of all content you upload and all subtitle files, transcripts, and articles you generate. We claim no rights over your content.

6. Limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is". We make no warranties about the accuracy of transcription or translation outputs. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Service.

7. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, particularly accounts using automated abuse or reselling our Service.

8. Governing law

These Terms are governed by Swedish law. Any disputes shall be resolved in Swedish courts.

9. Third-party services

The Service uses the following third-party providers to process your data:

• OpenAI — audio transcription via Whisper API. Subject to OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
• Anthropic — text translation and AI tools via Claude API. Subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
• Stripe — payment processing. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• AssemblyAI — fallback transcription provider.
